Boosting Your Mood With Crystals


Every once and awhile, we get in a funk. Whether it be from stress at work, a break up, or insomnia, it can happen to the best of us. You can use crystals for both temporary funks and long term down spells. You can give yourself a boost using crystals in many different ways. If you have a certain preference on how you like to use crystals, you can use said method for boosting your mood. Depending on what is causing your blues, you may need to try different methods of crystal healings. If you are down because of a bad day, you wouldn’t need to make a crystal grid or an elixir. I will go over some of the better choices for crystal healings for what type of funk you are having.

If you are having a bad day, stress from work or a school project, or any other temporary down spell, carrying a corresponding stone, or stones, is a great way to boost your mood. You can hold, or place the crystal on your body, and absorb the vibrations that way. I recommend this, especially if you are worried about losing your crystal or don’t have a pocket to carry it in. If you have a few dollars to spend, you should invest in a pouch, or vile, to carry your extra small gems. You can also wear jewelry that has a corresponding stone on it. In fact, there are even some pendants and charms made from wire (often called wire cages) that can can carry any stone of your choice. They come in a few different sizes and they are simple enough to where you can make your own.

If you are having any long term funks, like constant fatigue, clinical depression, or frequent stressing days at work, you may want to try different methods of crystal healing. While the methods above can still work for you, you may need something a bit stronger. You can make crystal elixirs for any and all ailments. They are very simple to make and use them as often as you’d like. To make an elixir, you need a bowl (preferably not plastic), a clear glass that can fit inside the bowl, water, and crystals. You should put the crystals in the glass, then the glass inside the bowl. Fill the bowl with water and let steep for no less than 4 hours; the longer you let it steep, the more potent it will be. It is strongly advised to not put the crystals directly into the water, since many crystals are sensitive to water (some are even toxic!). When you feel like your elixir is ready, put it in an airtight container, away from light, and consume 1 to 5 drops when needed. If you have space available, you should consider setting up a crystal grid. A crystal grid is a layout of different crystals arranged in a pattern that focuses, absorbs, and distributes healing energies. While you can arrange the crystals in any way, it is recommended that you use a form of sacred geometry as your layout. You can use any crystals you want, but you should always have at least one amplifying crystal on your grid (like selenite, any type of quartz, auralite, etc). To choose a spot to place your crystal grid, you should pick a place where it will not be disturbed by children or pets. You can charge them (it is highly suggested) and the easiest way to do this is by visualization, after the grid is set up. A crystal grid can be set up for however long you’d like, but it would require the occasional charging (usually once a week).

You can also leave your crystals in a place where you can see them, where they can radiate their vibrations continuously, and to where you can touch them. My crystals are out in the open on the top of my desk. I can always feel their energy and vibrations and any time I feel like I need a boost, for whatever reason, I touch them. I sift through them and I will hold onto ones that seem to feel like I need them. Sometimes I do this only for a few seconds, while other times I put it in my pocket and carry it around for the rest of the day. The choice is yours and you should always do what feels right to you.

If you have a bath tub, I really suggest for those super stressful days, to make an elixir and use it in a crystal infused bath. You can set glasses filled with crystals in the bath and fill the bath only a few inches of water to steep. You can use as many glasses of crystals as you want for some supercharged bath time. Once you feel it’s charged enough, you can fill the tub and take a dip. I like to add other things to the bath as well, essential oils, green tea, or milk. Whatever you want. If you know you’re going to have a crap day, make the elixir before you go to school or work so when you come home, you’ll have an extra potent crystal bath waiting on you. This isn’t just for stressful days, you can make a crystal infused bath for any ailment. You can light candles, get a glass of wine, a good book, anything you think can help, will help.


So now that you know a few different ways to use crystal healing to boost your mood, you should know learn which types of crystals are used for their mood boosting powers.

There are a few different crystals that you should always have in your mood boosting kit, regardless of what you are needing boosted. These would include clear quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, citrine, aventurine, carnelian, and black tourmaline. Clear quartz can be used for anything and everything. It can heal any ailment on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level, which is why it is known to be the “master healer”. Rose quartz is a great crystal for any relationship or emotional problems you have. It is often used as a soothing stone and is great to keep the atmosphere peaceful and harmonious. Amethyst heals just about all ailments and is often referred to as an “all purpose stone”. Amethyst works wonders with insomnia, mood swings, stress, and anxiety. Citrine has various healing properties and is very oftenly used for prosperity and abundance. But it is also great for beauty, weight loss, protection, and physical healing. Aventurine works wonders on mental and emotional ailments, as it attracts love, increases confidence and self-esteem, and aids in personal growth. Aventurine also brings luck, lasting relationships, and helps with immunity, sleeping disorders, and seasonal allergies. Carnelian is an amazing energy booster and can help you stay inspired, motivated, and confident. It also helps with sensuality and creativity. Black tourmaline is used for protection and grounding, as well as removing energetic or psychic blockages. It can even help protect you from EMF frequencies and negative vibrations. It is also considered a must have for all empaths.
