Herbal Teas

Herbal Teas

This post will be a direct quote from Wicca: The Complete Course. All of this post is credited to D.J. Conway. These are some of my favorite recipes.

Herbal teas as opposed to herbal brews are meant to be drunk. If you suspect you might be allergic to any of the herbal ingredients, be cautious about using herbal teas. Do not make up too much of the herbal tea mixture at one time.

To make teas, you will need a mortar and pestle, measuring spoons for measuring the herbs, a ceramic teapot, and pieces of cheesecloth or a similar item for enclosing the herbs while in the pot. It is not necessarily to grind the herbs for teas as finely as you do for herbal powders. If you store the tea mixture in tightly closed containers, you can make up larger amounts at a time.

As you grind the herbs, say the empowering chant. Hear the teapot by filling it with hot water. Empty this water, put in the herbs, and fill the pot again with hot water. Let it steep for about ten to fifteen minutes. While the tea is steeping, hold your hands around the teapot and chant the appropriate verse for the goal desired. Do the chanting three or five times. Then drink the tea.

An appropriate chanting verse is given at the end of each magical mixture recipe.
